This is the one that is tall enough.
At 53cm on a 30 × 30cm footprint, the Classic Hamptons is the tallest lamp in this range — the Oslo is 38cm, the Demi 32cm — and the only one of the three that works as a room's main bedside or console light rather than an accent beside it.
The Hamptons look holds up because it stays plain: a clean white or a flat black, correct proportions, and nothing asking for attention. Scale does the work.
Beside a bed, put it on a 55–60cm bedside table and the top of the shade lands around 108–113cm from the floor. That is the closest of our three lamps to eye level when you are sitting up, so it is the one to buy if you genuinely read in bed rather than just want a glow.
On a 75–80cm entry console it reaches roughly 128–133cm overall. If a mirror or artwork hangs above, start the bottom of the frame at about 145cm — any lower and the lamp and the frame crowd each other.
Length dictates how many. Under 1.2m, one lamp, set to one end with something low beside it. At 1.5m and over — a long console, a sideboard — a matched pair reads deliberate where a single lamp reads accidental.
One place it does not belong: a 45cm side table beside a sofa. Total height lands near 98cm and you spend the evening looking up into the shade.
The shade is packed separately from the base, so the lamp comes in two pieces and you assemble it. It is a shade-on-harp fitting — the shade seats onto the frame and holds. No tools, nothing to screw together.
It ships with an Australian 3-pin plug, so it goes straight into a standard Australian wall socket without an adaptor.
White recedes into a pale wall, so what you notice is the light rather than the lamp — the default choice in a Hamptons scheme of whites, linens and pale timber.
Black keeps its outline. In a room of neutrals it gives the eye a fixed dark point, and it is the choice that stops a Hamptons palette reading as too safe.

Care
Switch off at the wall and allow to cool. Dust the base with a dry, soft cloth and the shade with a soft brush or a vacuum brush attachment on the lowest setting. Keep liquid cleaners away from the fitting and the cord.

An entry console or a sideboard. On a 75–80cm console the lamp reaches about 128–133cm overall, so if you are hanging art or a mirror above it, start the bottom of the frame around 145cm to leave clear air. On a console or sideboard 1.5m or longer, a pair reads better than one.
White reads soft and recedes into a pale wall, so the lamp registers as light rather than object. Black holds its outline and gives a neutral room a fixed dark point. In a Hamptons scheme white is the default; black is the one that stops the room reading as too safe.

Material & Care Guide
◆ Materials — Floor & Table Lamps
|
Base: Ceramic, resin, metal, or timber base in your selected finish — hand-finished for a premium result. Shade: Linen, fabric, or metal shade (varies by model). Fitting: E27 bulb fitting compatible with standard Australian bulbs. Bulb not included unless stated. Cord: Fabric-wrapped or standard PVC power cord with Australian plug. |
◆ Materials — Candle Holders, Vases & Ginger Jars
|
Construction: Ceramic, glass, resin, or metal depending on the individual piece. Finish: Hand-glazed, lacquered, or hand-painted — minor natural variations are characteristic of artisan production. Note: Decorative items. Not all pieces are food-safe or waterproof internally — use a liner for flower arrangements. |
◆ Materials — Artificial Plants & Planters
|
Foliage: High-quality silk or polyester artificial foliage — UV-treated for indoor use. Planter: Ceramic, resin, rattan, or metal planter (varies by product). Note: Artificial plants require no watering and are suitable for low-light areas where live plants would not thrive. |
◆ Care Instructions — All Decor & Accessories
|
Dust all decorative items regularly with a soft dry cloth or fine duster. For glass and ceramic pieces: wipe with a lightly dampened microfibre cloth. Dry immediately. For lamps: switch off and allow to cool before cleaning. Wipe base with a dry cloth. Vacuum fabric shades with a brush attachment. For candle holders: remove wax residue with warm water before it sets fully. Avoid submerging in water. For artificial plants: dust foliage with a dry cloth or use a hairdryer on a cool, low setting. Wipe planters with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, bleach, and excessive moisture on all décor items. Display away from direct sunlight to preserve colour and finish over time. |
