Planning entryway furniture in a standard Australian hallway

Most hallways are 1.0–1.2m wide. A console 30–40cm deep leaves 70–90cm to walk past, which is comfortable. Hang the mirror so its centre sits at roughly 150–160cm from the floor, and keep the mirror to two thirds the width of the console beneath it. If there is no room for a console, a full length mirror leaning against the wall with a small tray or hook beside the door does the same job in half the depth.
