Dining Table Size Guide — How Many People Can Sit at Each Size?

120cm: Seats 4 comfortably. Ideal for apartments and compact dining rooms up to 3m × 3m.
150cm: Seats 4–6. The sweet spot for most Australian family homes.
180cm: Seats 6 comfortably, 8 at a squeeze. Requires at least a 3.5m × 4m dining area.
200cm+: Seats 8–10. Reserved for large dining rooms and open-plan spaces.
Round tables: A 120cm round seats 4; a 150cm round seats 5–6 comfortably.

Rule of thumb: allow 60cm of table width per person, and 90cm of clearance behind each chair.
