Lincon 3D Print Vase 34cm

Lincon takes up a 17cm square of surface and gives back 34cm of height — the narrowest of the three printed vases, and the one that fits where the others will not.

White ceramic, ridged in close horizontal bands laid down by the 3D printing process. On a narrow form the ridges wrap tightly, so the whole vase reads as a single fluted column rather than a decorated pot. Turn it and the bands catch light down one side and drop into shadow on the other.

The height-to-width ratio is roughly two to one, which is what makes it useful. It clears a table lamp base, slides between books on a shelf, and stands next to a place setting without reaching across the plate.

Where a 17cm-wide vase earns its place

A bookshelf bay of 25–30cm is enough — Lincon needs no clearance for width, only about 40cm of vertical space so the top is not cramped by the shelf above. On a bedside table of 40cm or less, it is one of the few 34cm vases that will not swallow the surface. On a dining table it works as a repeated element: three or four down the length of a 200cm table, spaced about 50cm apart, with low candles between them.

Austin, Lincon and Dawson share a 34cm height and differ only in width — 25cm, 17cm and 20cm. Lincon is the light one. Alone on a wide console it looks marooned; standing beside the 20cm Dawson or against the 25cm Austin it becomes the counterweight that stops the group looking like one heavy object. Set all three at 12–15cm apart and the level tops give you a single horizon line with three different masses under it, which is a rhythm no single vase produces.

A tall, narrow form: what that means in practice

A 17cm base carrying 34cm of height is a slender stance. Keep arrangements close to the rim rather than wide and top-heavy, and be deliberate about placing it near the edge of a console or a table where it can be knocked.

The ridges hold dust more readily than a smooth glaze would. A dry soft brush clears the grooves in seconds. As general guidance for any ceramic vessel, test with a small amount of water on a protected surface before using it with fresh stems, or use a slim glass liner inside.
