Our bar stool range is short and deliberate. Tufted velvet swivel bar stools with a footrest and gas-lift height adjustment move between counter and bar height, so the same pair works at a 90cm kitchen bench or a 105cm island; they come in black, grey, gold and silver base options. A vegan leather swivel barstool in black or cream suits a kitchen that gets daily wiping down. The French provincial bar stools with footrest, in velvet, sit beneath a Hamptons or classic kitchen bench. All are sold as a set of 2.

Black bar stools disappear against dark joinery and read as a clean line against white; gold and silver bases echo the tapware. Breakfast bar stools that swivel are easier to get in and out of in a tight galley kitchen.

Counter stools or bar stools: getting the height right

Measure the underside of the bench. A standard Australian kitchen bench is 90cm high and takes a counter stool with a 65–70cm seat; a raised breakfast bar at 100–110cm takes a bar stool with a 75–80cm seat. Leave 25–30cm between seat and bench underside for knee room, and allow 60cm of bench width per stool. Height-adjustable kitchen stools cover both cases, which is why most of our range is gas-lift.
