Frequently asked questions
Is velvet practical for everyday use in an Australian home?
Yes — and more than most people expect. Modern velvet has a flat pile with no raised weaves or loose threads, making it highly resistant to snagging and easy to maintain. Regular vacuuming with an upholstery attachment keeps it looking fresh, and the dense pile is more resilient to daily wear than many woven fabrics.
What size velvet lounge suite suits an open-plan living room?
For most open-plan living spaces, the 3+2+1 configuration works beautifully — the 3-seater anchors the space, the 2-seater creates definition, and the wing chair adds a finishing accent. If your space is more compact, the 3-seater alone is equally striking as a centrepiece.
