A 140cm console table with a travertine-look sintered stone top on two fluted walnut-finish columns, each finished with a gold stainless steel band.
A console is the first piece of furniture most guests see, and the Chester makes a considered first impression: a slim slab of light travertine-look stone floating on two fluted columns in a rich walnut finish, each ringed at the foot with a slim gold-finish stainless steel band. It is the range's dining-table pedestal split in two — same fluting, same walnut tone, same gold — scaled to an entry, a hallway, or the wall behind a sofa.
At 140cm long and only 40cm deep it fits where a cabinet would not, and the 80cm height is right for a lamp at one end, a mirror above, and a bowl for the keys. It pairs with the Chester side and coffee tables in a living room, or stands alone as the hallway's one good piece.
Allow a wall of at least 160cm, and keep 90cm of walkway in front so it never narrows a hallway. Behind a sofa, the 80cm height sits just above most sofa backs. Above it, a mirror two-thirds to three-quarters of the console's width — 90 to 105cm — is the proportion that looks right; our arch mirrors are the natural pairing.
Travertine-look sintered stone top — the warm, softly textured look of light travertine in a dense sintered stone that resists heat, scratches and stains.
Twin fluted walnut-finish columns — vertical fluting adds shadow and rhythm; the column form keeps the piece light on its feet.
Gold-finish stainless steel bands — one at the foot of each column, matching the rest of the Chester range and gold-framed mirrors.
Slim 40cm depth — sized for hallways and entries where a cabinet would crowd the space.
Delivered as a top and columns — the stone top and walnut-finish columns arrive separately and are brought together in place.

Care
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry; use coasters and wipe spills promptly. Sintered stone resists heat, scratches and staining, but avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners.
Metropolitan Melbourne and Sydney: calculated at checkout, typically within 7 business days once in stock. Regional and interstate delivery is also available, calculated at checkout. A stone-top table is a bulky item — for a tailored quote, or to arrange placement and packaging removal, email accounts@elegantcollections.com.au before ordering.
Complete the set with the matching Chester Fluted Round Coffee Table, Chester Fluted Round Side Table and Chester Fluted Sideboard Buffet.
An entry or hallway wall, or behind a sofa in an open-plan room. It is 140cm long and only 40cm deep, so it fits where a cabinet would crowd the space; allow 90cm of walkway in front. The 80cm height sits just above most sofa backs.
Two-thirds to three-quarters of the console's width — 90 to 105cm — hung 10 to 20cm above the top. An arch mirror in gold echoes the console's gold bands; a black metal arch gives a crisper contrast against the walnut.
No harder than marble. Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry, use coasters, wipe spills promptly, and keep acidic or abrasive cleaners away from the stone. Travertine's natural pitting and colour variation are part of the material, not a fault.
The travertine top and the two walnut columns arrive as separate pieces and are brought together in place. Metropolitan Melbourne and Sydney delivery is calculated at checkout, typically within 7 business days once in stock. Dining Tables & Chairs
Material & Care Guide
◆ Materials — Dining Tables
|
Tabletop options (varies by model): · Sintered stone: Ultra-durable compressed mineral surface — scratch, heat, and stain resistant. · Marble: Natural stone with unique veining — each piece is one of a kind. · Tempered glass: Safety glass that is significantly stronger than standard glass. · Timber veneer or MDF with lacquer finish: Warm, natural aesthetic with a durable surface coating. Base: Powder-coated steel, stainless steel, or solid timber in your selected finish. |
◆ Materials — Dining Chairs
|
Upholstery: Velvet, fabric, vegan leather, or boucle seating pad (varies by model). Frame: Solid timber, powder-coated metal, or stainless steel frame and legs. Cushioning: High-density foam seating for comfort during long dining occasions. |
◆ Care Instructions — Dining Tables
|
Sintered stone & marble: Wipe spills immediately, especially acidic liquids (wine, citrus, coffee) which can etch natural surfaces. Clean with a pH-neutral cleaner and warm water. Use coasters and trivets at all times. Avoid bleach and abrasive cleaners. Tempered glass: Spray glass cleaner onto a lint-free cloth — never directly on the glass. Avoid abrasive pads and steel wool. Timber/MDF: Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture. Use coasters and placemats to prevent surface marks. |
◆ Care Instructions — Dining Chairs
|
Spot clean upholstered seats with a damp cloth and mild detergent — blot, do not rub. For velvet dining chairs: vacuum with soft brush attachment. Steam lightly to restore pile. Wipe timber or metal frames with a dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid dragging chairs across hard floors — lift to move or use felt floor protectors on legs. Tighten all screws every 6 months to maintain structural stability. |
