A 200cm rectangular dining table with a travertine-look sintered stone top, softly rounded corners, and a fluted walnut-finish pedestal finished with a gold stainless steel band.
The rectangular Chester is the family-and-guests version of the range: two metres of travertine-look stone that seats six every night and eight when the table is full. The corners are rounded rather than square, which does two quiet things — it softens the table in a room full of straight lines, and it means nobody catches a hip on the way past. The sintered stone top has the warm, matte look of light travertine with the toughness everyday family dining needs.
Beneath it, the fluted pedestal in a rich walnut finish runs as a single central column rather than four legs, so every seat — including the two at the ends — has clear space underneath. A slim stainless steel band in a gold finish sits where the pedestal meets the floor, lifting the walnut and echoing gold-legged dining chairs. Travertine tones, walnut and gold: warm, contemporary, and a step away from the usual marble-and-black.
At 200cm × 100cm the Chester seats six with generous elbow room (three a side) and eight when you add a chair at each end. Allow 90cm of clear floor on every side so chairs can be pulled out and walked behind — a space of about 3.8m × 2.8m is the comfortable minimum. The pedestal base makes it easier to seat eight than a four-leg table of the same length, because no chair has to straddle a leg.
Travertine-look sintered stone top — the warm, softly textured look of light travertine in a dense sintered stone that stands up to heat, spills and daily use far better than natural stone.
Rounded corners — softer in the room and kinder to hips, without losing the seating of a true rectangle.
Fluted walnut-finish pedestal — vertical fluting adds shadow and rhythm; the single column leaves every seat unobstructed.
Gold-finish stainless steel band — a slim metal ring at the foot of the pedestal that matches gold-legged dining chairs.
Seats six to eight — a weeknight table that hosts a dinner party.
Delivered as a top and a base — the stone top and walnut-finish pedestal arrive separately and are brought together in place.

Care
Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry; use coasters and placemats and wipe spills promptly. Sintered stone resists heat, scratches and staining, but avoid abrasive pads and harsh chemical cleaners.
Metropolitan Melbourne and Sydney: calculated at checkout, typically within 7 business days once in stock. Regional and interstate delivery is also available, calculated at checkout. A stone-top table is a bulky item — for a tailored quote, or to arrange assembly and packaging removal, email accounts@elegantcollections.com.au before ordering.
Prefer a round table? See the Chester Fluted Round Dining Table. Complete the room with the matching Chester Fluted Sideboard Buffet and Chester Fluted Console Table.
Six comfortably — three a side with generous elbow room — and eight with a chair at each end. The pedestal base means the end seats have clear legroom, which a four-leg table of this length often cannot offer. Allow 90cm of clear floor around the table for chairs to pull out.
The 200cm rectangle suits a longer dining room or an open-plan zone and seats up to eight; the 150cm round suits a squarer room and keeps six people in one conversation. Both share the same travertine top, fluted walnut pedestal and gold band, so they read as one range.
No harder than marble. Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry, use coasters and placemats, wipe spills promptly, and keep acidic or abrasive cleaners away from the stone. Travertine's natural pitting and colour variation are part of the material, not a fault.
The travertine top and the walnut base arrive as separate pieces and are brought together in place. Metropolitan Melbourne and Sydney delivery is calculated at checkout, typically within 7 business days once in stock. For a bulky-item quote, assembly or packaging removal, email accounts@elegantcollections.com.au before ordering.

Dining Tables & Chairs
Material & Care Guide
◆ Materials — Dining Tables
|
Tabletop options (varies by model): · Sintered stone: Ultra-durable compressed mineral surface — scratch, heat, and stain resistant. · Marble: Natural stone with unique veining — each piece is one of a kind. · Tempered glass: Safety glass that is significantly stronger than standard glass. · Timber veneer or MDF with lacquer finish: Warm, natural aesthetic with a durable surface coating. Base: Powder-coated steel, stainless steel, or solid timber in your selected finish. |
◆ Materials — Dining Chairs
|
Upholstery: Velvet, fabric, vegan leather, or boucle seating pad (varies by model). Frame: Solid timber, powder-coated metal, or stainless steel frame and legs. Cushioning: High-density foam seating for comfort during long dining occasions. |
◆ Care Instructions — Dining Tables
|
Sintered stone & marble: Wipe spills immediately, especially acidic liquids (wine, citrus, coffee) which can etch natural surfaces. Clean with a pH-neutral cleaner and warm water. Use coasters and trivets at all times. Avoid bleach and abrasive cleaners. Tempered glass: Spray glass cleaner onto a lint-free cloth — never directly on the glass. Avoid abrasive pads and steel wool. Timber/MDF: Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture. Use coasters and placemats to prevent surface marks. |
◆ Care Instructions — Dining Chairs
|
Spot clean upholstered seats with a damp cloth and mild detergent — blot, do not rub. For velvet dining chairs: vacuum with soft brush attachment. Steam lightly to restore pile. Wipe timber or metal frames with a dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid dragging chairs across hard floors — lift to move or use felt floor protectors on legs. Tighten all screws every 6 months to maintain structural stability. |
